Becoming a member of the Canterbury Chess Club is simple enough. Just bring your subscription down to the club on a club night, and our Treasurer will take it from there, including sorting out payment plans for those who prefer them. The best nights for new members to come along are Lightning and Grim Reaper tournaments - see our programme for dates. For prospective junior section members, bring your subscription to our Junior Development Officer on any club night.
Of course, there is a small fee to pay for the services we provide. The fee goes toward maintenance of the premises, insurance, rates, tea and coffee, equipment (sets and clocks), electricity, telephone, and so on, and also includes NZCF registration.
Subscriptions for 2010:
These fees were accepted at the AGM on February 24, 2010. The definition of a junior member is a player born on or after 1/1/1992, or a school pupil born on or after 1/1/1991. Payment can be made by cash or cheque (made out to Canterbury Chess Club) to the Treasurer on a club night, or by using internet banking to the following account:
