We are back open for 2026!

Thursday social chess nights have resumed from January 15th, 2026 (open 6pm - 9pm). Wednesday member-only tournament chess nights have resumed - the first tournament is our Summer Rapid. 

Junior coaching is open for 2026 - head to the "coaching" tab of the website for course options and sign-ups for term 1. 

Junior Sunday Series tournaments are beginning again from February 22nd - info and sign-ups are available in the "open tournaments" tab of the website.

We offer tournaments for members on Wednesday nights - clubrooms open around 7pm, games start at 7.30pm. There are a range of different tournaments (with different time controls) - all classical and some rapid time control tournaments are NZCF rated. More information is located in the "club tournaments" tab.

We also offer open social chess nights for members and non-members alike. These run every Thursday night from 6pm till ~9pm (first night free, $2/night after that). Beginners are welcome.

We also offer coaching for juniors during school terms between the ages of 7-15 - more information is available under the "coaching" tab.

Our address is Unit 9, 27 Tyne Street, Addington, Christchurch. Off street parking is available from 6pm and on weekends.
