Canterbury Chess Club

We are organising and hosting the Zonal in Christchurch! 22-27 January at the Town Hall, more details on the official website, entries via Trybooking.

We offer tournaments for members on Wednesday nights - clubrooms open around 7pm, games start at 7.30pm. There are a range of different tournaments (with different time controls) - all classical and some rapid time control tournaments are NZCF-rated. More information is located in club tournaments.

We also offer open social chess nights for members and non-members alike. These run every Thursday night from 6pm till ~9pm (first night free, $2/night after that). Beginners are welcome.

We also offer coaching for juniors during school terms between the ages of 7-15 - more information is available under Coaching.

Our address is Unit 9, 27 Tyne Street, Addington, Christchurch. Off street parking is available from 6pm and on weekends apart from the carparks for units 5 and 10 (clearly marked on the carparks).
